Immigrant's Semiotics

An immigrant is by default a student of semiotics because, lacking a full command of the new language, she or he is compelled to rely on semiotic signals in glances, facial expressions, gestural motions, and bodily behaviors to aid in the linguistic understanding as well as progressive learning, granted we all do that, much more than the “natives."
