March in New York

The sun's gentle smile
softens the traces of snow
with a whiff of spring.

Streets shimmer in drizzle
under city lights and headlights.
The spring hesitates.

Two in One

 two lives in a day

not in tandem, no

they come in sequence 

two lives in a single day

daytime and then night

walks chores errands and 

gallery rounds by day 

theater after dark

concert ballet opera, too

two lives in a day

keep me on my toes 

then sleep promises 

another two lives

morning comes it’s a new day
